We had an absolutely beautiful day up on Hale Lake in Grand Rapids, Minnesota where Meg and Brent got married at their home in front of family and friends. As with many of the weddings this season, some adjustments were made to accommodate our current circumstances – but for the most part, the day looked pretty similar. The lake was the perfect backdrop for their nuptials and the party tent was set in the back, along with a food truck, yard games and the bar.
One of my favorite elements of a busy wedding day (there are a LOT) are the dinner speeches. While I do get to know my couples throughout the planning and engagement photo process, nothing is better than hearing the intimate stories, laughter, and love shine from friends and family. Meg and Brent’s day was no different. From the funny and thoughtful words of Alex, Meg’s brother and “Man of Honor” to Brent’s sister Michelle’s emotional and sweet tribute. Making the day even more special (as if that’s even possible), Michelle and her family traveled all the way from France to be a part of the celebration. They didn’t know if this would be possible until just days before. These tributes not only are special for the couple to hear, but for everyone in attendance. I love looking around the room and seeing literally every person smiling, swiping joyful tears, laughing and everything in between. It truly is a highlight.
Congrats Meg and Brent! I wish you a lifetime of happiness in your future together!
