I have so much to say about Gabby and Bobbijean’s day….. The emotions were big. I tend to shed a tear or two at EVERY wedding I’m privileged to be a part of. I find the raw and honest display of love between the couple and their families so inspiring and a joy to be around. I feel lucky I get to surround myself with this kind of love so often, outside of my own existence.
It’s easy to feel this on a wedding day. With that though, real-life love is hard. It’s messy, emotional, and at times not always our priority to maintain and nurture our relationships when we have busy careers, obligations, and other day-to-day things. It hits hard (and personal) when you know that even with all of these regular challenges, there are so many additional ones waiting that are completely out of your control. I hate it.
To hear, and feel, the personal vows towards their commitment to living their best lives, even with challenges, all while being supportive of each other through their love and friendship was incredibly moving and inspiring. Even now, two weeks later, their words still occupy my mind and resonate very powerfully.
The Atrium was a perfect backdrop to their celebration. The winding path takes you through what feels like an enchanted forest and opens to a mystical space to exchange vows. The half-sawed logs surround the couple and you can’t help but feel like you are not only witnessing the love – but are enveloped in it. It’s one of my favorite spaces to be. The owners truly love their work and their commitment to ensuring every detail is taken care of, every nook and cranny is an opportunity for a photo, and everything else that goes into a wedding venue is perfect. Sigh.
Sorry (not-sorry) for the long-winded entry this time. I typically sign off with my customary congratulations to the happy couple, yada, yada, yada…. But this time, I’d like to congratulate every person involved with this special day. It was one for the record books! (But yes, congrats Gabby and Bobbijean!) I wish you a lifetime of happiness – I’d say I hope you found some time to relax and recoup after the nuptials but I know better. I’m positive you were both at a softball field somewhere, paying it forward to a team of girls who look up to you. Thank you both for being genuine and amazing people.
