Brianna + John | Oconomowoc Lake Club

10/12/22

Wow, just wow. This entire weekend was a beautiful military-based wedding in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin for Brianna and John. With a backdrop of the Delafield Hotel, Lapham Peak in Kettle Moraine State Forest, and finally – the Oconomowoc Lake Club, their nuptials could not have been more perfect.

Brianna is a geological engineer and John is a Captain in the United States Army. They met while attending UW-Madison during a geology ‘field trip’. Fast forward several years, and trips to Germany where John was eventually stationed – they made the decision to spend their life together. While they both call Wisconsin home, they reside in Fountain, Colorado.

For a time, John was based at Baumholder Army Base in Baumholder, Germany. Here is where they made life-long friends, many of whom were a part of the festivities and traveled from all edges of the globe to support them. I’ve never been a part of the sabersman entrance but it was a beautiful and appropriate way to begin their ceremony processional.

I’ll let the photos tell the bulk of the story, but I’ll add that when a huge chunk of the wedding party and guests graduate from the same university, a surprise visit from Bucky to their iconic party song that kicks off the dancing – you KNOW it’s going to be a great night! Jump Around! From the welcome gathering at Weissgerber’s Golden Mast Inn, to the dressing prep at The Delafield, to almost sinking a pontoon boat – what a memorable wedding. One I’ll never forget! Congratulations to you both, and I wish you continued happiness!
