Meet Olivia and learn more about my senior sessions!

Let’s start with the good stuff: Meet Olivia! She will be graduating in a couple of short months (eeeekkkkk, how did this year go so quickly??) from East! Not only is she adorable, but she’s going places! As most teens, she’s busy! She’s involved in Houndpack, the Executive Board, Yearbook, a student forum leader, and NHS! In addition to all of that amazing stuff, she loves to hang with her huge family, her dog, and being in the outdoors. Let’s get to the next thing: With all the snow and cold we’ve been enduring, summer seems like so far off – but it will also be here before we know it! Now is actually the time you should be confirming your summer grad sessions for yourself or your senior. Let’s talk about what I offer in my senior sessions.

Experience, flexibility, and fun!

Grad photos have changed. This has been happening for many years now, but if you are a first time parent to an upcoming grad, you may still have it in your head that you want formal, smiling directly at the camera, simple photos. And guess what? We DO still need those (more on that later). If you are the grad, you want Instagram-worthy images that toddle between whimsical and effortless looking – to model glam and editorial.

I get it! Here’s the thing: Both are really important. The senior photos fulfill a few things for this stage in your life: Let’s talk about the required pieces:

You NEED some of those clean, headshot-style photos for the yearbook, college and scholarship applications, banquets, and let’s face it – Grandma wants you smiling and looking at the camera too.

The secondary pocket of photos are completely opposite of that. These photos get to showcase personalities, style, and current trends. This is important as well! There will never be a time in the grads life such as this one, and we want to document all this fun stuff.

Where do I come in?

I pride myself on creating a fun and inviting atmosphere for both the grad and parents that allows both of these types of important images to shine. My years’ of experience allows me to dig right in and put everyone at ease before we jump in. Secondly, I know my way around town and will help curate a location plan that maximizes our time together utilizing structures, textures, and the nature around us. I like to find places that aren’t always well known. This allows the grad to shine!

Finally, our work doesn’t conclude when the photos are done being taken. You will have a professional experience with me from early communication, through the session and photo delivery, a beautiful viewing platform, yearbook guidance, and even printing and grad announcements.

When should I schedule?

Now is the time to book your session. As of now, I have very limited availability in July/August, and a handful of openings for June and September. Let’s talk about what time of summer is best for your grad:

Early summer (June/July): If you have a grad who plays a fall sport or activity. High School sports start in early August and matches/games start by early September. This makes scheduling my afternoon grad sessions really difficult.

Late summer (August/September): This time is ideal if your grad attends summer camps and/or sports camps. Most of the time these extended training/experiences happen earlier in the summer.
